WMC Resources
This project involved consolidating WMC Resources from several buildings spread over West Peth and Belmont to the QV1 Building in Perth. At the time this was a landmark project, being the first company to move into the new QV1 building at 250 St Georges Terrace Perth.
The briefing process was involved and took several months to complete. Storage was a main issue for all departments which involved rationalisation of existing methods of storage and archiving prior to the move. Cost of floor space in QV1 being a driving factor to reduce both storage and the number of offices as was the custom in the old accommodation.
During the process of the redesign of WMC Resources the number of enclosed offices was reduced by 75% being converted into open plan spaces. This involved a high degree of staff re education to ensure that the transition from an officed environment to open plan went smoothly.
