Private residence, Leederville - Perth
The landscape design for this project was based on low maintenance water wise design principles.
The landscape follows Japanese simplicity adapted to the West Australian dryness with low timber decks, pebble and native grass garden areas representing dry river beds. Hardy native shrub species attract bird life whilst deciduous tree species allow shade in summer, light in winter and a contrast to the Australian evergreen bush colours.
This garden has been specifically designed to compliment the interior of the home offering garden views from the strategically placed windows. It also compliments the solar passive principles adopted for the home with plant selections designed to provide protection from the east and west sun and allowing light in on the north side, particularly during winter.
